The TCS-RCA Design Innovation Lab will develop and deliver joint research projects at the confluence of design, technology and business, with the goal of filing joint patents and publications, TCS said in a statement.
The Lab, located on the RCA's South Kensington campus in Central London, will also be able to host students on internships and researchers on sabbaticals, it added.
The facility is being development and is due to open officially in September.
Under the agreement, TCS customers can access RCA's academic expertise and advice for design projects.
A number of joint projects are already being worked on by TCS and the RCA, including development of a contactless payment concept for a TCS customer and studies focussing on the use of design within insurance and retail.

*Reliance Entertainment today announced the elevation of Amit Khanduja as the new CEO of Reliance Games, effective June 1, 2015.
With over 20 years of experience in mobile and digital media, Khanduja has held executive positions with Sun Microsystems and Hewlett Packard in the past.
"I am confident that under his leadership, we will chart a promising new phase of success in the global mobile and digital gaming space," Reliance Group Managing Director Amitabh Jhunjhunwala said.
With an extensive slate of 10 games scheduled to launch globally, Reliance Games is betting big on markets like North America and Western Europe. It has also announced a new market expansion strategy to gain share in a burgeoning domestic market.
Chaitanya Godavari Grameena Bank eyes Rs 5,000 cr business
* Chaitanya Godavari Grameena Bank is targetting a Rs 5,000 crore business in the current fiscal.
During the 2014-15 fiscal, the rural bank did a business of Rs 4,180 crore.
Chairman V Brahmananda Reddy said, in view of the new capital city planned in the Vijayawada-Guntur region of Andhra Pradesh, the bank plans to expand its presence in this region.
