Teacher denies chain snatchers; dies after it strangulated her
Press Trust of India Madurai In a tragic incident, a woman teacher who resisted two persons from snatching her necklace at nearby Panankadi died of deep cuts she suffered after it strangulated her, police said.
52-year-old Jeyarani a private school teacher, was on her way to school this morning in a moped when two persons on a motorbike suddenly rammed her two wheeler. Under the impact she fell down and the duo tried to snatch her chain, which she resisted and shouted for help. Hearing her cries, locals rushed to the spot following which the duo escaped.
However the pressure from the chain on her neck strangulated her and she died on the spot.
Police have launched a manhunt to nab the duo.
