IT firm Tech Mahindra today appointed John Hyslop as the Head of Wealth Management as part of efforts to strengthen its financial services business in Australia.

Prior to joining Tech Mahindra, Hyslop was Head of Technology for the National Australia Bank's Wealth Group, Tech Mahindra said in a statement.

"Tech Mahindra has two decades of global experience in offering innovative solutions to the banking and financial services sector. As we continue with our aggressive Australian growth strategy the importance of this market opportunity is underlined by the calibre of today's new appointment," Tech Mahindra Head of Australia and New Zealand Bobby Gupta said.

Prior to his role at NAB, Hyslop worked for a number of major Australian financial services companies including IOOF, Colonial First State and AXA.

"I am excited by the opportunity to lead Tech Mahindra's Wealth Management team and play a lead role in leading and growing some already well established relationships as the unique needs of this sector continue to evolve," Hyslop said.

Tech Mahindra counts NAB, Link Super, Suncorp and other firms as its clients in the region.

In October last year, the company won a multi-year deal with Perpetual whereby Tech Mahindra will take over the registry capability for Perpetual's Wholesale, WealthFocus and Select investment, superannuation and pension products.
