The trustees of a hostel in Maharashtra's Palghar district have been booked in connection with the suicide of a 17-year-old inmate, police said on Saturday.

The victim had hanged herself in her hostel room in Vasai on Thursday and her mother filed a case at Nalasopara police station claiming the act was a result of harassment on the part of the trustees, Palghar police PRO Hemant Katkar said.

An abetment of suicide case has been registered but no arrests have been made, he added.
