Teenage girl jumps off jeep as driver attempts molestation

A teenage national level handball player jumped off a moving jeep and injured herself after the driver allegedly attempted to molest her at Cherupuzha in the district today, police said.
The driver, Ilavungal Sandeep, known to the girl, has been arrested, they said.
The girl, who suffered injuries on her hands and legs, was admitted to a private hospital here after preliminary treatment at a cooperative hospital.
According to the police, the girl was offered a lift by Sandeep at Cherupuzha while she was returning home from a school, where she had gone in connection with her Plus One admission.

When Sandeep allegedly attempted to molest her, the girl asked him to stop the jeep. However, as he did not halt the vehicle, she leaped out.
