The incident occurred in afternoon when Manjith Chowdary, who had appeared for his class X exams just two days ago, visited the park with his relatives.
"Between 1 PM to 1.30 PM he climbed the rock around which an artificial waterfall was put up. He slipped and fell down either while trying to take a photo of the place from a cell phone or a selfie...Which is not clear immediately," Bahadurpura police station Inspector Harish Kaushik said.
Manjith was rushed to state-run OGH Hospital where the doctors declared him brought dead.
"His relatives are also not revealing on the exact reason on whether he fell down while taking a photo or a selfie," the officer said, adding a case under section 174 of the CrPC was registered in connection with the incident.
Further probe is on.
