Tehsildar, village revenue officer held for taking bribe

A tehsildar and a village revenue officer were arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau for allegedly taking Rs 3.40 lakh as bribe in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh.
The tehsildar and the VRO, working at Thottambedu of Chittoor district, were caught red-handed by ACB officials when the tehsildar demanded and accepted an amount of Rs 3 lakh while the VRO took Rs 40,000 as bribe from a complainant for doing an official favour, an ACB release said here.
After recovery of the bribe amount totalling Rs 3.40 lakh from both the accused, the duo were arrested.
