Congress MLA from Khammam in Telangana P Ajay Kumar today quit the party and joined the ruling TRS.
Kumar joined TRS in the presence of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, who presented him a party 'khandua' (scarf) at a function to mark his admission into the ruling outfit.
"Ajay is young and educated. He has passion to develop Khammam district. The party will utilise his services in an appropriate manner," Rao said at the function held at his residence.
Kumar had yesterday alleged Congress did not recognise the services he had rendered to strengthen the party in the district.
