Several leaders from the state, including Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, congratulated Naidu.
Telangana BJP leaders and activists, led by state unit president K Laxman, celebrated at the party office here by bursting crackers and raising slogans.
"Naidu rose from humble origins and got elected as the vice-president. He worked admirably in all the positions he held in his long political career," Laxman told reporters.
Hailing Naidu's qualities of discipline, hard work and punctuality, BJP floor leader in Telangana Legislative Assembly G Kishan Reddy said the former Union minister would make a great vice-president.
Union Minister of State for Science and Technology Y S Chowdary also congratulated Naidu on his election to the post of vice-president.
