Ten die in Tripura accident

Police said a jeep carrying 13 passengers was returning from a marriage last night when it collided with the truck laden with straw on Dhanpur-Kathalia main road.

Due to dense fog, the visibility on the road was very low, sources said.

Police said nine persons died on the spot and another succumbed to his injuries on way to hospital.

The injured was shifted to Agartala government Medical College from a nearby primary health centre.

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar expressed his sorrow at the deaths.
