The cafe in Australia's largest city Sydney, which was the scene of a deadly terror attack last December, is reportedly set to reopen soon.

According to media reports, workers are now completing the process of repairing the Lindt Chocolate cafe building.

The Daily Telegraph report said the Martin Place site would reopen by the end of the week.

Earlier, Lindt's chief executive Stephen Loane disclosed the plans to "move forward and to push on" by resuming trade.

In a statement, Loane had said a permanent memorial to the siege victims would be a feature of the shop.

"We have taken this decision after careful consideration of a number of factors, the most important of which was consultation with our staff," he said.

On December 15, Iranian-born Islamist gunman Man Haron Monis entered the cafe and took over customers and staff.

The siege ended after 17 hours when police stormed the cafe leaving three dead, the cafe's manager Tori Johnson and lawyer Katrina Dawson, besides the gunman.
