St. Stephen's College principal Valson Thampu, who has had a controversial tenure as the head of the premier institution, today said he plans to write a detective fiction post retirement.
"I have never tried my hands at writing detective fiction. (I) Am strongly tempted to write a potboiler under the title - The Vixen of Stephenville," Thampu said in a Facebook post.
"(I) Shall turn to this as and when time permits. Maybe, I have to wait till I get a little time to myself, which will be, it seems, only after retirement.
"The plot, though, is with me, ready made and full-grown, complete in all details," Thampu, who retires in February, 2016, said in an apparent reference to the controversies that he claims are attacks by vested interests.
Thampu, who has been at the centre of controversies ever since he took over as the principal in 2008, has said that the events were "one-sided attacks by certain vested interests" but claimed that the institution was strong enough to withstand thousand such controversies.
Controversies like allegations of forced conversion of an administrative officer to Christianity, fake degree used for his appointment, banning of an student-run e-zine for not seeking permission on content, and shielding a professor accused of sexual harassment of a research scholar, have rocked the college from time to time.
