The event to be held at Matunga here will capture the essence of the festival with a series of yagnas, chants, elaborate vedic ceremonies and homas (havan) like the Chandi homa, Sri Subramnya homa, Rudra homa and the Vaastu Shanti homas, a statement issued by The Art of Living said.
"Rudra homa helps overcome illnesses. Subsequently the performance of Sudarshan homa signifies the removal of ignorance and the beginning of a new life enriched with knowledge," it added.
"The Chandi homa, performed on Ashtami (8th day) is the highlight of the Navratri celebration in which 700 verses in praise of the divine are chanted. With the recitation of each verse, 108 offerings are made in the sacrificial fire for invoking the essence of the supreme energy," she said.
