High court has directed the Director General of Police to provide Grade II Constable for a candidate whose eye sight had been set right by "Photo Refractive Keratectomy"surgery,and he was declared fit for the Job.
Allowing an appeal filed by G Shanmuga Sundaram, Justices R Sudhakar and V M Velumani said the report of the aravind Eye Hospital says that there was no defect in the vision of the candidate.
The Medical Board had also stated that there was no defect in the candiate's vision.
Even as per the Tamilnadu Police Hand book,for any class and Category of recruitment,the visual standard of the appellant was correct, and he had satisfied the standard. In such a circumstance the rejection of the candiates'application on the ground of defective eye was improper.

Earlier another medical board who examined submitted that the candidate had corneal scar, but it did not given any reason as how the corneal scar would disqualify the candidate medically.
The bench directed the DGP to give the appointment order within four weeks.
