Three dacoity accused wanted in MP held in Maharashtra

The Nagpur police in Maharashtra on Wednesday arrested three men who had escaped from police custody in Chhindwara in neighbouring Madhya Pradesh after their arrest in a dacoity case.

Ravi Ramprasad Dubey (30), resident of Bhandara in Maharashtra, Monu Bhurmal Thakur (25) and Rajkumar Heta Keram (23), both residents of Mandla in Madhya Pradesh allegedly ran away with five others while in police custody at Mohkhed in Chhindhwara district on Tuesday midnight.

Ravi Dubey was caught by local people in Pardi area here on Wednesday morning on suspicion that he was a robber, a police official said.

Officials of Kalamna police station questioned him and found out that he was among the fugitives who had fled from Chhindwara.

Thakur and Keram were soon arrested from the vicinity.

All three were handed over to the Madhya Pradesh police, the official added.
