Three feared drowned in Matsyagedda river

Three persons were feared to have drowned in Matsyagedda river when a boat capsized at Patna Padalaput area of Rangabayalu panchayat in the district this evening.
According to police, seven persons were crossing the river from Onakadilli on the Odisha side to Patna Padalaput village under Munchangiput police station limits when the boat sank midstream. Four persons managed to swim to the shore.
The villagers had gone to the weekly market at Onakadilli and the incident took place when they were returning by boat, police said, adding that the missing persons have been identified as P Ravi (25) and two girls-- P Rajeswari (8) and M Dasai (10).
Munchangiput police have launched the search operation to trace the missing.
