Three held on charges of stealing goods from container trucks

Three persons were arrested on charges of stealing goods from port bound container trucks carrying consignments for export and Rs.23 lakh in cash and a truck was seized, police today said.
A man who allegedly pilfered goods without breaking the Customs seal in the container, a transporter, and another person, who arranged for the sale of pilfered cashewnut consignments, were arrested, police said, adding, they were on the lookout for two others in connection with the case.
The arrests were made following the complaint of a Cuddalore based cashewnut exporter.
Of the 750 boxes sent by the cashewnut exporter, 122 were pilfered on the way to port after customs clearance here.
