A mother and her two daughters were killed after the LPG cylinder in their house exploded in the district today, police said.
The 45-year-old woman, Jayamani and her daughters aged 18 and 13 were found charred to death, when the police broke open the door and entered house at Thayirpalayam, after receiving information from the neighbours.
Jayamani's husband was away at work when the incident occurred.
Police suspect that the gas could have been leaking since last night and that the cylinder must have exploded when someone switched on the light.
Investigation is on, police said.
