The court of Upper District and Session judge, while holding the accused guilty in the case, yesterday sentenced them to life imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 20,000 each.
The court announced its verdict on the basis of the evidence and the witnesses' testimonies, the prosecution said.
The plaintiff Sonu Sharma in August 2005 lodged a police complaint, alleging that her aunt Lakshmi along with her son and daughter-in-law threw acid on her parents, sister-in-law Jyoti and her two daughters while they were sleeping on the terrace of their house.
In a statement given before her death, Jyoti had alleged the accused of throwing acid over her and other family members.
