Three taken into custody for molestation bid

Three youths were taken into custody today for allegedly trying to outrage the modesty of a married woman in Mahabubnagar district of Telangana, police said.
The incident occurred near Wanaparthy Mandal of the district when the youths (aged 20-22), who were playing nearby, reportedly made some gestures at the woman while she was grazing the cattle, and passed some remarks, Wanaparthy Circle Inspector P Madhusudan Reddy said.
"The woman went back to her house and informed her husband about the matter, following which he gathered some people and beat up the trio, who were subsequently hospitalised and later taken into custody," Reddy said, adding that "the youths only passed some remarks and none of them caught hold of her."

Based on a complaint, a case under Section 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of IPC has been registered against the trio.
