Moderate thunderstorm accompanied with lightning is likely to occur in all districts of Gangetic West Bengal in the southern and western parts of the state till tomorrow, the Met department said.
For the next two days, generally cloudy condition will prevail with one or two showers in the region.
The Gangetic plains in the state is likely to experience heavy rain from Friday, the Met department said.
Most of these areas received little or no rainfall in 24 hours till 8.30 AM today.
Jalpaiguri in north Bengal received 38.6 mm rainfall, the highest in the state during the 24-hour period.
The weatherman has forecast isolated heavy rain for the next two days in the north Bengal districts of Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri, Coochbehar, Alipurduar and Kalimpong.
