A tiger died in a city zoo today while the cause behind the incident is being investigated, an official said.
The big cat named "Guddu" was roaming in its enclosure in Siddharth Garden zoo when it suddenly collapsed and died at around 11 AM, sources said.
The vets at the zoo tried to resuscitate the feline, but it did not respond, they added.
Zoo Director B H Naikwade said the exact cause of the tiger's death could be ascertained only after postmortem is conducted.
"Autopsy would ascertain the reason behind Guddu's death," he said.
"Guddu" was one of the seven tigers at the zoo. The forest officials were informed about the incident.
