"On a tip-off, we arrested Ganesh, Mihilal, Ashok and Sonu who were trying a sell tiger hide on the Adivasi Museum Marg in the town yesterday," Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) S S Udday told PTI.
The skin appeared to be of an over three years old animal, he said.
Officials were looking for another person, a local man who is the main accused, he said.
All four arrested men belong to a tribal community and are aged between 35 and 40 years.
They have been booked under the Wild Life Protection Act, 1972, the DFO added.
