"Tihar Central jail and district jail Rohini joined the celebration for the 2nd International Yoga Day with a record participation of over 11,000 inmates and staff," a senior Tihar official said.
The event is being recommended for inclusion into the Limca Book of Records 2016, he said.
Yoga will be included in the regular curriculum of the inmates' activities and some of them will also be given professional training of yoga and meditation which will help in their rehabilitation following release from jail, Director General (Prison) Sudhir Yadav said on the occasion.
