Elsewhere, nickel also firmed up owing to sustained demand from alloy industries.
However, select copper, zinc and lead weakened due to lower demand from industrial users.
Tin prices gained by Rs 60 per kg to Rs 1,520 from Thursday's close of Rs 1,460 and nickel advanced by Rs 10 per kg to Rs 760 as against Rs 750 yesterday.
Brass sheet cuttings rose by Rs 3 per kg to Rs 307 as against Rs 304.
However, lead moved down by Rs 4 per kg to Rs 144 compared to Rs 148 yesterday.
Zinc prices softened by Re 1 per kg to Rs 239.
