The decision was taken at a consultation of various trade unions which met after the "unfruitful" discussions with the government over wage revision this morning.
A release from DMK-backed Labour Progressive Federation (LPF) said 14 trade unions affiliated to various parties, including CPI(M), supported the day-long strike tomorrow, which incidentally is the Tamil New Year day.
Earlier, the government had offered a 5.5 per cent hike in wages for the state-run transport employees which was not acceptable to the opposition trade unions.
Four rounds of talks had been held and today's meeting was held between the government, represented by Transport Minister Senthil Balaji and senior officials, and trade union representatives.
The employees had earlier went on an indefinite strike from December 28 last year over the issue of wage increase affecting bus services in the state and it was called off after the government agreed to hold talks with them.
