Top police officials of Uttar Pradesh and Delhi exchanged their views on the preparations of Yatra, during which it was decided that joint raids should be carried out on drug mafias operating in Trans-Yamuna and Ghaziabad areas, official sources said.
On the occasion of Maha Shivratri on July 21, lakhs of devotees are likely to pay obeisance by Jal Abhishek on Shiv Linga in the temples of their respective areas.
City Superintendent of Police Akash Tomar said that from UP, Inspector General (Meerut Zone) Ram Kumar and from Delhi, Joint Commissioner Ravinder Yadav held the meeting here at police lines.
Senior Superintendent of Police H N Singh emphasised on joint police raids on drug mafias operating in Trans Yamuna and Ghaziabad.
Joint checking and patrolling on UP-Delhi borders, also verification of auto drivers will be done.
The officials also decided to share the databases of criminals and exchange routine informations about gangs active in both the states.
They also decided that calls being made on emergency number 100 from bordering colonies usually land in Delhi and UP, in such cases police of both the sates will coordinate.
