Paryatan Bhawan will be constructed near the Birla Temple on a 9 acre land and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley will lay the foundation stone for the building on September 27 as part of the celebration of the World Tourism Day, said a senior Tourism Ministry official.
The ministry is celebrating World Tourism Day (WTD) with a theme of "One billion tourists one billion opportunities" across the country.
There was a need for the India Tourism office in the capital as the ministry is currently functioning from the Transport Bhawan.
NDMC will construct the new building at an estimated cost of Rs 90 crore, said the official.
The new Bhawan will be a green building with all modern amenities and adequate parking facilities.
