BJP MP Hema Malini today said that boosting tourism will not only create employment opportunities but lead to an all-round development of Mathura.
"Tourism would not only pave the way for employment but will completely change the scenario," she told reporters here.
With the help of state as well as the Centre, infrastructure will be developed, she said adding that a festival would be organised in Mathura, Vrindavan and Goverdhan to boost tourism.
The actor-turned-politician said there is a need to focus on waste material management and planned development of Brijbhumi.
"For waste material management, plants at Mathura and Vrindavan would be set up. The gas would be used for cooking while fertiliser would be used by the farmers. It would also pave the way for clean Mathura and Vrindavan," she said.
She also has a plan for setting up a place which gives a glimpse of the life of Lord Krishna.
The BJP MP aims to develop Mathura and Vrindavan on the lines Tirupati and Shirdi.
The architect of Shirdi has been invited to give suggestions in the form of a plan, she said.
She also pitched for better medical facilities and training centres for Indian classical dances such as Odissi Bharatnatyam and Kathak.
She also desisted officers from granting permission to construction of skyscrapers to retain the old environment of Vrindavan.
"In order to retain the I have told officials of Mathura Vrindavan development authority that skycrappers would spoil the basic environment of temple town Vrindavan. Desist from granting permission of skyscrapers and try to retain the environment of old Vrindaban," she said.
