: TRS leaders have no moral right to speak anything on a possible alliance between Congress and TDP ahead of the assembly elections in the state, a Telangana Congress leader said Tuesday.

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee chief spokesperson Sravan Dasoju asked TRS leaders to clarify as to why and from when TDP and its president N Chandrababu Naidu appeared 'anti-Telangana' to them.

He reminded them that the TRS entered into an alliance with the TDP in the 2009 elections.

"It is strange that when TRS enters into an alliance with TDP, it is called a 'moral' tie-up and when Congress and TDP join hands, it is described as 'immoral' and 'unholy'," a party release quoted Sravan as saying.

He said though there was no clarity on whether or not Congress and TDP would have an alliance, the preliminary indications had created "ripples" in TRS circles.

Sensing that the TRS boat was about to sink, its leaders have started criticising the proposed alliance so as to 'mislead' the people, he said.

Congress plans to go in for a broad based alliance in the assembly polls in line with its efforts to forge opposition unity at the national level, its leader earlier said.

The Congress, which won 21 seats in the 119-member Assembly in the 2014 elections with a vote share of more than 25 per cent, has since struck an understanding with TDP, CPI and TJS of Prof M Kodandaram to fight the election jointly.

On dissolution of the Telangana Assembly on September six -- more than eight months ahead of the expiry of its term -- on the recommendation of (now) caretaker Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, who opted to go for early elections, Sravan accused Rao of entering into a 'secret deal' with the BJP to advance the Assembly elections.

He claimed Rao had taken permissions from Prime Minister Narendra Modi before making any move including dissolution of the Assembly and called Rao a 'political sadist' and a highly opportunistic politician in the country.

Sravan further said Rao and his son and Minister K T Rama Rao have no moral right to speak anything on martyrs of Telangana.

Calling TRS as 'Telangana Rowdies Samithi', Sravan said all "betrayers" of Telangana have assembled under the banner of TRS.

He said leaders like Srinivas Yadav, Tummala Nageshwara Rao and Mahender Reddy, who had attacked statehood activists during the Telangana movement, had been rewarded with posts of cabinet ministers.

"Several anti-Telangana leaders have been given tickets in Assembly and Parliament," he alleged.
