Former MP Gutha Sukhender Reddy is set to be electedin the bye-election to fill a vacancy in the Telangana Legislative Council.
Reddy's nomination (on behalf of TRS) was the only one found valid after the scrutiny of nominations, an official release said here on Friday.
The nomination of B Koyalkar, who was the other candidate to file nomination, was rejected.
The vacancy (to be elected by MLAs) arose following the disqualification of K Yadava Reddy on charges of switching over to Congress.
The victory of Sukhender Reddy has been a foregone conclusion as the strength of TRS in the 119-member assembly is 100.
