While Turkish cinema celebrates its centenary, as many as eight films including the 'Pandora's Box' will be screened in the Country Focus section in the one week-movie gala beginning here from December 12.
According to Kerala Chalachitra Academy, the organiser of the event, it is the only movie by a woman director to be showcased in the section.
The 2008-movie has already won several recognitions in many prestigious festivals including the San Sebastian International Film Festival.
The other films in the 'Country Focus' section--'Majority', 'The Night of Silence', 'A Joint Venture by Turkey and Germany', 'Come to My voice', 'Sivas', 'A Fair Ground Attraction' and 'I am not Him'-- also portray a blend of modern liberalised Turkey and its existing conflicts, diversities and ambiguities with the traditional culture.
