According to the police, Komal Sharma was threatened by the duo, Surjit Singh and his son Guruditt Singh, presenting themselves as a member of a terror outfit Babbar Khalsa.
On a tip off given by the victim, the police nabbed the duo yesterday after they demanded Sharma to reach a local Cinema here with an amount of Rs one lakh, they said.
The victim had been receiving such threats for long. The accused called him from Sim cards based in Uttar Pradesh or Bihar, police sources said.
The accused admitted that they were not members of Babbar Khalsa and were using the name to only threat him to extort money, the police added.
