Two die in Uttarakhand in rain-related incidents

A woman died and a man was injured in cloudburst, while a senior citizen was killed when a boulder from a mountain fell on him following heavy rains in Uttarakhand.
According to Uttarakhand State Emergency Operation Centre, cloudburst took place in Kasadi village of Pithoragarh district last night after heavy rains.
Three houses were damaged and a woman living in one of these houses was killed while a man was injured, it said.
The woman has been identified as Bhagirathi Devi.
The injured, Anand Singh, has been admitted to a nearby hospital.
More than 18 animals also died in the incident.

According to the centre, cloudburst was also reported from Chaithbagar village in the same district after heavy rainfall.

No one was killed or injured here.
Meanwhile, in Chamoli district, a 62-year-old man was killed when a boulder from a mountain fell on him in Bachera village after heavy rains.
According to the disaster management office in Chamoli, the victim, Lakshman Singh, died on the spot as the boulder suddenly fell on him while he was cutting grass.
