Two held for posting morphed pic of Bhagwat on social media

Two youths have been arrested here for allegedly posting and circulating a morphed objectionable photo of RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat on social media, police said today.
The youths identified as Shaqir (22) and Wasim (20) were arrested on March 16 for uploading the morphed picture of Bhagwat in a local social networking group of Bhikangaon town, Additional SP, Antar Singh Kanesh said.
As the photo went viral on social media, RSS and BJP workers registered a strong protest on the issue following which a case was registered against the duo in Bhikangaon police station under Sections 67 of the IT Act and 505 (2) of IPC, he added.
The accused claimed that they had received the photo from some other group and they just forwarded it further, the ASP said.
Both Shaqir and Wasim were arrested and sent to jail by JMFC Sadashiv Dagode. The duo has been sent to judicial custody till March 30.
