Dewas-Ujjain Road Range Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Rakesh Gupta told reporters that accused Akeel Imtiaz and Salman aka Elahabadi looted a car from Bengali Square here and reached adjoining Dewas district on April 21 after which they knocked down an Assistant Sub-Inspector of police and decamped with his service pistol.
Then they stopped a motorbike-borne person, shot him dead with the firearm at Ujjain-Indore Road and fled with the deceased's two-wheeler, the DIG said.
The next day on April 22, they looted a cab from the Super Corridor area of the city but left it in the Bhawarkuan area which was cordoned off by the police, Gupta said.
