A local court adjourned to December 11 the hearing on bail plea of former Uttarakhand Additional Secretary (Home) J P Joshi, accused of raping a woman on the pretext of providing her a job in tourism department.
The bail plea hearing was postponed as the District and Sessions Judge Ramsingh was on leave.
Joshi, after being denied bail by the Chief Judicial Magistrate Rajiv Kumar, had approached the District and Sessions Court on Thursday.
In a complaint filed by 29-year-old woman from Dehradun said on pretext of giving her a job in the tourism department, Joshi had called her to a room in the Police Lines Officers' Club in Nainital and allegedly raped her.
On December 5, Uttarakhand Government suspended Joshi, who was arrested a day before in connection with the alleged crime.
