The company had posted a net profit of Rs 17.74 crore in the same period of previous fiscal, UFO Moviez said in a BSE filing.
Net sales for the quarter under review stood at Rs 153.42 crore, as against Rs 142.43 crore in the year ago period.
"With the impact of demonetisation behind us, we are fully focused on the future and we see exciting opportunities ahead," UFO Moviez Founder and MD Sanjay Gaikwad said.
The company said its board has recommended a dividend of 10 per equity share on the face value of Rs 10 each for FY17.
