Undertrial dies of brain hemorrhage in M'nagar jail

An undertrial held in the district jail here died of brain hemorrhage, following which a judicial inquiry has been ordered.
Mitrpa (30), arrested on charges of abducting a minor girl, was brought to the district jail on Friday.
His condition deteriorated yesterday and he was rushed to the district hospital, where he was declared dead. He died after suffering brain hemorrhage, Jail SuperintendentRakesh Singh said.
A judicial inquiry has been recommended into the death, he said.
This was the second such incident in the last three days. On Friday, another inmate, Gopal (49), serving jail term in a rape case, had died in the prison. He was suffering from diabetes.
