Union minister encourages students to come up with innovative ideas

Union minister Harsh Vardhan today exhorted the students to come up with innovative ideas, saying the government was there to support those ideas with programmes such as Startup India.
Delivering the convocation speech of University Institute of Engineering & Technology of Panjab University here, he encouraged the students to come up with innovative ideas.
"The Government of India will support them (the ideas) through the Startup India and Stand-Up India campaigns," said the Union Minister for Science & Technology and Earth Sciences.
Honesty was the only ladder to reach the "highest of the highest", he said, adding, "The powers of truth, honesty, love, compassion, karma and the God are unbeatable."
Harsh Vardhan lauded the university for producing visionaries and leaders who had been inspiring generations.
He also underlined the importance of the knowledge that the students got from their teachers saying it would help them choose the right path in the future.
The annual convocation of post-graduate and graduate students of the 2016 batch of UIET, Chandigarh, UICET, Chandigarh and UIET, SSGPURC, Hoshiarpur was organised at the Panjab University campus. A total of 55 students received their degrees at the convocation ceremony.
