UP allocates Rs 20 cr to promote investment, create jobs

The Uttar Pradesh government has made a provision of Rs 20 crore for the Industrial Investment & Employment Generation Policy that aims to boost investment and job opportunities in the state.
The state government early this month cleared the policy that aims to facilitate industries and ease of doing business to attract investments.
The budget for 2017-18 presented in the assembly today has also made a provision of Rs 10 crore to set up Single Window Clearance, Rs 5 crore to set up incubators in Lucknow, and a provision of Rs 10 crore for "Vishwakarma Shram Samman Yojna".
Apart from this, a provision of Rs 5 crore has been made to set up Special Investment Board to encourage industrial investment. The investment promotion board would be set up under the chairmanship of the chief minister.
As far as urban employment and poverty alleviation is concerned, a provision of Rs 3,000 crore for 'Pradhanmantri Awas Yojana - Sabke Liye Awas (Shahri) Mission' has been made.
Provision of Rs 385 crore has been made for 'Mukhyamanti Nagriya Alpviksit Evam Malin Basti Vikas Yojana'.
In the handloom and textile sector, a target has been fixed for creating 25,000 employment opportunities in handloom & textile sector.
State finance minister Rajesh Agarwal said that a new textile policy would be announced soon.
