UP: Brawl during city board meeting; 3 in police custody

Two members and one staffer of the city board here were taken into custody by police for affray during its monthly meeting today.
According to police, the brawl erupted when board member Yogesh Gupta accused executive officer AK Singh of demanding bribes from a contractor for alloting work.
But board employees came to Singh's defence and a scuffle ensued between them and a section of the board members in which two members were injured.
According to Inspector (Kotwali) RK Singh, the two injured members and one employee have given a complaint in writing to police in connection with the events this afternoon.
A report will be lodged after medical examination of the complainants, added police.
