The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet on Tuesday approved the transfer of 50 acres of land for the proposed Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University to be set up in Lucknow, officials said.
The decision was taken during a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Lok Bhavan here.
During a press conference after the meeting, UP minister Shrikant Sharma said, "the Cabinet has approved the transfer of land for Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University that will be constructed in 50 acre area near Chak Ganjariya farm here."
Sharma said, "Out of the total land area, 20 acre will be provided by the Health Department and 15 acre each will be given by the Medical Education Department and the Lucknow Development Authority."
