UP police sets up special team to probe use of e-chip to cheat

The Uttar Pradesh police has constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe into the use of electronic chips and remote control devices to dispense a lower quantity of petrol and diesel to consumers.
Additional Director General (Law and Order) Aditya Mishra said, "Most of the cases pertain to Lucknow, and hence a SIT has been constituted, which will probe this incident. The petrol pumps are being sealed as per evidence. The evidences are being preserved scientifically, and checking of all the petrol pumps in the state will be done."
A number of errant petrol pumps in Lucknow and across the state were sealed after they were caught using electronic chips and remote control devices to dispense a lower quantity of petrol and diesel to consumers.
