UP to give double the circle rate in urban land acquisition

The Uttar Pradesh government today decided to give two times of the circle rate in urban areas and four times compensation in rural areas to land owners in case of land acquisition.
The decision was taken during a meeting of the state Cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav.
Chief Secretary Alok Ranjan said that during Cabinet meeting after discussion on the new land acquisition and rehabilitation policy of the centre the decision regarding compensation was taken.
He said in another important decision, the Cabinet approved a proposal for Noida Authority giving bank guarantee equivalent to rebate in stamp duty for setting up of Infosys campus in Noida area.
He said the company would set up the project on 27.75 acres land in which it would invest Rs 1,400 crore.
Ranjan said once operational the project would provide direct and indirect employment to 35,000 youth.
He said the Cabinet also approved final bidding document for selection of contractors for implementation of Agra- Lucknow Entry Controlled project.
The CS said that cabinet also approved a proposal to upgrade link road of Etawah lion safari from two lane to four lane and eco-tourism policy to promote eco-tourism in the state.
He said under the policy participation of local people would be ensured and local culture and handicraft would be promoted by conserving environment and ecology.
He said participation of corporate sector would also be ensured in developing infrastructure facilities.
Alok said superannuation age of Bhadohi Industrial Development Authority has been increased to 60 years from 58 years.
He said the Cabinet cancelled the tender to install high security number plates in vehicles and the company which was being awarded the contract was being put in the black list.
For road safety it approved a proposal to set up a UP Highway Patrol.
It decided to transfer land to Railway Ministry in Allahabad and Chandauli for Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor.
It also approved grant scheme for upgradation and modernisation of theatres in the state.
