According to the MET department, Allahabad was hottest in the state at six notches above normal followed by Varanasi which recorded maximum of 46.6 degrees, both six notches above normal.
Mercury in Banda soared to 46.6 degrees Celsius, up four notches, while Sultanpur registered a maximum of 46 degrees, six degrees above normal.
The state capital Lucknow also felt the scorching heat at 44.7 degree Celsius which was five notches above normal, they said.
The weatherman have forecast that rain/thundershowers would occur at isolated places while dust storm/thunderstorm accompanied by squall would occur at isolated places tomorrow.
