Uttarakhand clinch men's title, Railways women's crown

Yadwinder Singh produced a brilliant performance for Uttarakhand as he top-scored with 33 points to take his side to a thumping 79-61 win. Krishnan Murli (15) and Vishesh Briguwanshi (15) were the other notable performers for Uttarakhand who emerged 23-16, 22-18, 13-7, 21-20 winners.

The home side, on the other hand, failed to live upto their pre-tournament billings, as they lagged behind in all the four quarters of the final match at the Guru Nanak Dev Indoor Stadium.

In the women's section, Railways continued their stranglehold in the national basketball scene with their 10th successive title after a resounding 102-82 victory over Tamil Nadu in the summit clash.

India's best female basketball player Geethu Anna Jose stamped her authority with 50 points while Anitha Kumari (13) and Anju Lakra (14) were the other notable contributors for Railways in their 24-21, 28-20, 27-17, 23-24 win.

Services took the third spot in the men's section with a 79-49 thrashing of Tamil Nadu while Chhattisgarh beat Delhi 71-66 in the third-place play-off in women's section.
