"Officers concerned should ensure that local youths must get job opportunities and income with the development of herbal and Yoga villages," Chief Minister Harish Rawat said in a meeting here today.
Gairsain village in Chamoli district, Hanol and Devvan in Dehradun, Sarnol and Harsil in Uttarkashi, Munsiyari and Chaukori in Pithoragarh, Mayawati in Champawat, Jageshwar and Kakrighat in Almora, Khirsu in Pauri and Madan Negi in Tehri have been selected to be developed as Yoga and herbal villages, an official release said.
Rawat said that intensive herbal plantation would be carried out in the selected villages and for it help of Vanpanchayats would also be taken if needed.
