Jain, who had yesterday ordered a magisterial inquiry into the incident, said the SDM concerned will submit the report to the government within one week.
"The government will soon announce a compensation to the family of Praveen," the minister said.
The AAP government had yesterday held the Delhi Traffic Police "responsible" for the incident, alleging it had halted the repair work of the road by Public Works Department.
In its defence, the government had made public two letters written by PWD to police wherein it had sought permission for carrying out repair work of Vasant Kunj road but traffic police did not approve the same.
