BJP today played video clips of the Narada News, a news portal, showing two Trinamool Congress leaders either accepting bribes or promising favours in exchange for stakes in a fictitious company.
The fresh set of video clips came close on the heels of videos of a sting operation conducted by the news portal purportedly showing several TMC bigwigs accepting money to lobby for a fictititous company released in Delhi.
Trinamool Congress termed the video clips as 'trash'.
The video clips were taken from Narada News which had last week released videos of a sting operation which purportedly shows some Bengal ministers, MPs and MLAs accepting cash in return for favours such as lobbying for a fictitious company 'Impex Consultancy'.
TMC national spokesperson Derek O' Brien reacted to BJP's allegations saying "this is nothing but dirty political vendetta. This is cheap politics of black money and blackmailing. This is politics of opponents with zero credibility. This is the politics of political parties which already know they have lost their elections. This is the politics of losers who will soon be clean bowled by the people. Trinamool is not afraid. Thanda Matha cool Cool/ Bengal is with Trinamool."
The BJP local leadership demanded immediate resignation of TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee from the post of Chief Minister.
"She has lost all rights to govern. It is a shame for entire Bengal. She should immediately resign," BJP leader Jayprakash Majumdar said.
Leader of the Opposition and CPI(M) state secretary Surya Kanta Mishra charged TMC is a party which is "fully corrupt from top to bottom.
